ROCK BAND
Students participate in a 1 1/2 hour group class on their individual instruments learning basic fundamentals of being in a band and prepare for recording and/or performance. Currently, this class meets once a week at ReadyMix Music recording studio in North Hollywood for 8 weeks on Sundays, from 1pm-2:30pm.
The kids learn to play contemporary songs in a band setting. Typically, the band will include guitars, bass, drums, vocals and keyboard. Students generally bring their own instruments. We provide keyboards and drums at the studio.
Practicing and playing with other musicians is highly motivational and a very important part of music education. It increases self-esteem and provides an opportunity that can open new doors of self-discovery!
By enabling students to play and rehearse with others, they will develop an understanding of teamwork. ROCK BAND can increase their confidence to perform in front of others, while broadening their overall knowledge and possibilities that exist in the study of music, all in a positive, fun and creative environment.
At the end of each 8 week session, the band will record a song they have rehearsed. You’ll learn about microphones, amplifiers, effects, acoustics and experience first hand how a recording is made! That class will run longer, usually about 2-2 1/2 hours. Since classes are ongoing, students are encouraged to continue working with their band and progress to the next level of musicianship.
Each 8 week session is $395 and includes all materials needed, music, studio time, etc. If you sign up for more than one program, we offer a 10% discount on the second class.
